The fashion industry is dominated by gay men. It shows.
They have no idea what an attractive woman is.
Anorexic....or having the body of a 10 year old boy = not attractive.
Bloated whale = not attractive.
Fit/athletic with nice boobs and a pretty face = ideal.
Yet they can’t seem to figure it out.
And now SI is likely to use Lizzo as the cover model for the swimsuit issue.

I was a teen in the 80’s and 90% the young women were trim and fairly fit like that young lady
Seriously, 5’2-5’4 and 150# was considered borderline obese and worthy of avoidance whereas these days it seems to be acceptable or normal
Considering most men are fat now I think It’s a sad state of affairs when my over 50 self is stronger, faster, and has considerably more endurance than most men half my age
Slender/slim, bones not protruding, looks healthy/fit. Thin/skinny, protruding bones, looks unhealthy/unfed. After that comes emaciated, looking like death warmed over/skeletal.
This is just how I’ve understood the differences in these adjectives. Thin could even be the bridge between the first two and the last. Models should at least be slim or slender. Appearing half dead from hunger is not a good look for selling clothes.
Lila Moss is what every 20-year-old girl looks like with good genetics and a minimal bit of exercise and attention to what she eats. With unluckier genetics, there’ll be a little thicker wrists and thighs, and wider hips, but still a basically slim silhouette.
Lizzo doesn’t bother me as much she bothers other Freepers, but she needs to lose 100+ pounds or she will live a sad, medicated, immobile life from her mid-40s onward and die in her 60s if she’s lucky. No one is doing her any favors encouraging her.

I’m about the same age as you. When looking at elementary school pictures from then, the fat kid in the class was nothing like the fat kids of today. Most kids were proportionate for their height. There were way more skinny kids than fat kids. I’ve seen some 80 pound kindergartners. That’s so unhealthy.

Watching Frasier many years later I thought of that Lorraine Newman every time they referred to the never seen “Maris Craine” . The producers of Frasier thought casting anyone in the role impossible but that Newman could have nailed it.
It is odd the way the pendulum never seems to stop in the middle.
Back to pre teen boyish bodies again. Great for pedos and homos.
Her daughter looks to be a much healthier weight.
