Jane was living in rural New Mexico when she discovered she was pregnant. She never wanted to have children or carry a pregnancy and knew immediately she wanted an abortion.
But while abortion remains legal in the state, she says she also didn't want to take her chances with long waitlists at a clinic or a sudden change in the law that would put her in limbo. She had volunteered at an abortion hotline years ago and knew that even before the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, waiting periods and mandated ultrasounds can cost extra time and money.
So, instead she turned to her closet, where she kept a package of abortion pills purchased online for $150 after an earlier pregnancy scare.
Rather than a doctor, she relied on the counsel of a few close friends and called the M+A Hotline, an anonymous help line that counsels women experiencing miscarriages and abortions.
"I was not in a place where I could call a bunch of (clinics), and get 'no's,'" said Jane, who agreed to tell her story on condition that ABC not use her real name -- or identify the online pharmacy she used -- because of privacy concerns and fear of criminal prosecution.
"I wanted certainty," she added. "And I didn't want to be pregnant."
Less than five months after the fall of Roe v. Wade, the impact on women across the country has become almost impossible to measure. Abortion access has become considerably more restricted on paper – at least 14 states have ceased nearly all legal abortion services, including prescriptions for medication abortions. Data released this week estimated there were 10,670 fewer legal abortions since the Supreme Court decision.

She discovered she was pregnant
It appears DISNEY (ABC) is ramping up its political scare propaganda into the midterms.
Yep she discovered she was pregnant. Must have come from the water supply.
Predictable that there will be a black market developing , as different states resolve their statutes on abortion. Apparently American women now think that pregnancy is something that just sort of happens, like by bad luck for which they are not responsible.
Jane should have not opened up about this......oh!
Haven’t heard the “it’s in the water” for a long time!
“Jane, you ignorant slut!”
All legal in NevaDUH. Jane could include it in a junket to Vegas. The Vegas ads could now be: “What’s aborted in Vegas, stays in Vegas!”. 😲
This is on the Leftists. They are scaring women into thinking abortion is illegal in the whole country so the pregnant women do not ask for help.
Still think it is an exaggeration regarding “back alley”/home abortions.
Once women have the convenience of killing their babies at home, they won’t need abortion clinics.
Cry me a river

I like to call it “the coat hanger apocalypse”. The people that immediately go to coat hangers, and back alley abortions cannot be reasoned with. You can point out that Roe was poorly decided, that Dobbs merely sent the issue back to the states where it belongs, and that people will vote on it there with things not likely to change in states like CA, IL, NY, Mass, OR, etc, but you can’t get that through. It’s all emotion, no reason. My sister say a Tudor Dixon ad on television a couple of weeks back and snapped “She’s for forced birth!”. A lot of ads constantly played on YouTube targeted toward Michigan voters are very well crafted to elicit and emotional response.
"I wanted certainty," she added. "And I didn't want to be pregnant."

What different choices could she be making to avoid pregnancy?
This is another extreme case trying to use an activist as an everywoman. Not unlike the earlier story about a Queens nationalized immigrant abortion activist worried about abortion access in NY. These are hardly representative women.
Yeah, it just happens. Some mean old MAGA man or woman passed in front of her on the street, and BAM!
The Democrats have talked Abortion throughout the campaign but they will actually be performing Abortions on Election Night.
They will perform Abortions on themselves.
So Jane the Ho has discovered that actions can lead to consequences. Hopefully she has a safe space full of participation trophies and certificates of achievement to calm her.
They get an emotional response from us alright: angry and fired up to vote for Dixon. The one ad makes me want to throw whatever device I am holding.
BS article. “Jane”? Yeah right. Wasn’t the anti-abortion group that tries to blow up pregnancy centers and churches called “Jane’s Revenge”? You’d think they would invent a story using a different woman’s name! No imagination.
Morning after pills have been available for decades. They are not illegal — unless they are under prescription and you are not the patient.
OTOHand, if you “discover you are preggers”; you can’t understand this.
