When I think about October, it’s blue skies, abundant sunshine, fall colors, and maybe ‘sweater’ weather. Today, in actuality, is what I think of when I envision November: dreary, rain, soggy wet leaves, dull gray skies ... just colder.
It is currently 66-69 degrees, depending on which weather source you look at. It’s been raining since the ‘wee’ hours - coming down around 2 am when I woke up for a few minutes. As I was having my first cup of coffee, shortly after 7 am, it was coming down “buckets”. We have at least a half inch in the rain gauge since yesterday. When I pull up “fronts”, we are between two ... we’re also in a “tornado watch” until 3 pm.
After ‘Nicole’ and all the weather her remnants are spawning clears out, it’s going to be in the 50’s ... I have mowing to do (last time) so I will have to bundle up, mostly due to wind chill. I’m not sure how the fence project will go with temps that might give me cold hands ... I have some fingerless mittens that might work.
Still have zinnias, tithonia and jalapenos. It looks like Thursday is the beginning of a couple of nights in the high 20’s so that will be the official “The End” for this year’s garden.
In the meanwhile, today, I think I’ll go do my grocery shopping for a few Thanksgiving items (not much, but I want it on hand early) and I need a stop at the Thrift Store - my old “work” T-shirts have enough holes in them at this point that ‘coverage’ is about to become an issue. I wore the last one totally out with 3 days straight of fixing leaky pipes and a 4th day of stains/holes yesterday, setting the valve box & filling in the ditch before the rains hit. It was my favorite shirt ... sigh. Maybe I’ll find something with a ‘saucy’ or ‘sarcastic’ logo ( the fave was plain) ... that would make me happy today! So would finding Brussels Sprouts (frozen) for my Thanksgiving casserole - they can be hard to find close to ‘the day’.
Btw, if anyone wants a really good Brussels Sprouts casserole, I have one. I converted it to low carb with a couple of changes so it’s close to the original. I was shocked at how many people liked it and disappointed I had NO leftovers! It’s become a dish it’s expected I will make for Thanksgiving dinner.

Yes, Please! No pictures of ‘wardrobe malfunctions,’ LOL!
I just bought some B-sprouts. That recipe looks great!
