A seemingly calm Paul Pelosi never let on to responding officers that he was in distress just seconds before he walked back into his house where an intruder bludgeoned him with a hammer, new details from police sources have revealed.
David DePape, 42, is accused of breaking into the Pelosi home and beating Paul Pelosi, 82, over the head with a hammer after reportedly intending to hold his wife, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, hostage and break her kneecaps.
Instead of telling officers that he needed help, or trying to flee the home, Pelosi calmly greeted them and then retreated several feet back into the foyer where police saw the DePape strike him with a hammer, police sources close to the investigation told NBC News.
It's not clear if Pelosi was already injured or what his mental state when he walked several feet back into the house, away from police.
But according to the the San Francisco police report, both Pelosi and the intruder each had a hand on the hammer when officers responded to the home, which they reportedly were struggling over as police yelled, 'drop the hammer!'

The complaint is a pack of lies. The police report is closer to the truth.
There's been no comment, or documentation as to what time DePape entered the house. Nor is there any timeline as to what went on before DePape claims he had to wake Pelosi up, and before Pelosi said he had to go to the bathroom. Court records only account for the 8 minutes from the time of the 911 call until the time the cops showed up.

Great point. She doesn't want to make any public appearances, or make any public statements in front of the media because they'd be bombarding her with questions she doesn't want to answer. Her silence is overwhelming.
Court records said he had a list of other public officials he planned to confront. There's been no mention of who those other public officials are. If they were Republicans, their names and addresses would have already been published by the media. This whole incident, and the official court description of how it all went down, who said what to who in the 8 minutes that supposedly passed from start to finish is pure bullshit.

Thanks for the link. It looks like Paul’s passiveness while being accosted and threatened by an intruder over an 8 minute period, makes him the winner of the shortest period of time for someone to experience Stockholm Syndrome.
Ah….have you seen a copy of the police report? There is one incorporated into the complaint. Police reports are not usually released until an indictment and trial.

I don’t think you are reading this accurately.
Both people hand one hand on the hammer.
Depape had his second hand on Pelosi’s arm (assume it’s the one holding the hammer).
That leaves one Pelosi hand free.
I think people are way over thinking this. The complaint seems to fit with what others are saying. Nit picking it is simply going to get people confused.
And why does it even matter? The guy (Depape) is clearly a lunatic. And as much as I am not a fan of Pelosi ( Mr or Mrs) I don’t want their heads bashed in. None of the conspiracies being presented change that.
Crime scenes are never as clear as they seem on law and Order. Victims don’t ever act in their best interest—they are not trained to react to these situation. Trying to figure out what is going on in the head of a crazy person is a waste of time.
To what end? This isn’t a national security case. It’s at worst a B&E, assault and attempted kidnapping.
Consider the worst of the conspiracy theories about this…and what changes? No 81 year old person deserves to get beaten with a hammer.
“Our” feelings about Pelosi or his morals are irrelevant as soon as the hammer was swung.
