Henry V was a power-hungry imperialist rather than an English hero, the Globe’s latest production of the William Shakespeare play will suggest.
Rather than lauding a “band of brothers” defeating the French against the odds at Agincourt, the new staging will show audiences the “devastating cost” of Henry’s “bombastic pursuit of power”.

How is Henry V the “pinnacle of white supremacy” when he defeated white French????
At least they aren’t portraying Henry VIII as a trans or gay fop.
The key word to what you posted is...yet.
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
There is a quote from the director claiming to have discovered the seedy underbelly of English nationalism. These people are so full of themselves.
I’d rather hear about how Arthur “Two Sheds” Jackson got his nickname.
“Let them eat soy”, as English manhood surrenders to its Asian overlords.
Do you get it now? They have been actively destroying and mocking our heritage and our values. All in the name of ‘diversity’. Our ancestors would be completely ashamed of how we have let them do it with no pushback.
That’s a valiant flea that dare eat his breakfast on the lip of a lion.
It is suspicious how much he hung out with Falstaff.
I wouldn’t watch this “for Cadwallader and all his goats.”
Henry the 5th was the son of the illegitimate Henry the 4th..who was a “son” and the illegitimate child of Edward the 3rd. The best Plantagenet King of England and maybe the best king England ever had.
The story goes that Edwards wife had a child in Ghent, and that child was a girl. The girl child died as a result of an accident so they went out and took a boy child from a porter for a replacement. That child they took became John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster.
As so started the wars of the Roses which started after Henry the 5th dies and his insane son, Henry the 6th took the crown.
I guess you’ve never heard that “wogs begin at Calais”.

C.S. Lewis thought Henry V was a sociopath. There are a lot of ways to view him, of which Shakespeare’s presentation (whether he believed it or not) is one.
And there was never any such thing as White Supremacy. It is just a fact of history that in Shakespeare's time in Europe, there were only White People.
Shakespeare didn’t exactly do historical justice to any of the Plantagenets, but he doesn’t deserve this crap.
It’s sickening.
Overall, the Hundred Years War was quite profitable for England.
