When people are making statements that are dramatically different than those of others experiencing the same world and the same events, we regard those statements as indicative of psychiatric disfunction.
It is hard for me to see our President's last speech as anything other than delusion.
I am aware that many other folks interpret the reality gap as mere political posturing, but I can't really endorse that view.
Psychiatric conditions in functioning individuals don't diagnose themselves. Children and adults both wander some in the accuracy of their assessments of the world. A careful psychiatrist puts together as broad a picture of current functioning as he or she can.
I didn't like the look of that speech.

Another problem with Biden’s speech is that other countries can see this senile old fool ranting like Hitler at the Nuremberg rallies.
It was pure mean spirited desperation.
It will get worse after the Dems get crushed in the election.

Its more likely that the Republicans will seize up.
All the pre-election talk and promises will fade away into the usual nothingness and appeasement that the GOP is so famous for.

We have this local app called "NEXTDOOR" or something. Yesterday all the Karen's were complaining that their trash collection bill was going up $6 a month to pay for increased diesel costs and other inflationary increases. They went nuts, something like 76 responses. I posted this was due to Bidenflation and the democrat war on energy and don't be part of the problem by voting Democrat. Some Karen attacked me, saying it's Wall Street's lust for profits fault and big oil and the GOP would not fix it then she complained about my post and I was taken down, and then I quit the app. Yes, they are strupid.

I’m a little more comfortable with media mass delusion than I am with Biden’s speech. I don’t like the social delusion of the media bubble, but I am a little more comfortable with it from a diagnostic point of view.
Saying crazy things your friends want you to say in conversations with your friends is one thing.
A president standing on a stage saying stuff may need a different look from an experienced clinician.
