A real doozy of an article in The Atlantic begs for mercy.
In her recent article in The Atlantic, a Brown University professor, Emily Oster, is calling for "pandemic amnesty." She is telling me to "forgive and forget" everyone who was yelling obscenities at me for not wearing a mask in a public park or calling me a mass murderer for posting a picture with a friend visiting. I must forget all this, the author insists, because all those people had nothing but my well-being in mind!
The author admits that many (if not most!) measures imposed on us by "the experts" were harmful and destructive. But "dwelling on those mistakes" is "counter-productive." After all, people who made these mistakes had only good intentions.
"As we now know," the author concedes, cloth masks are practically useless. People who got vaccinated spread COVID as easily as those who did not. Keeping children locked up at homes had disastrous consequences on their development. And some of the COVID "mitigation" measures — like beach closures in California — were outright dumb. But let's not "dwell" on them — because those were "complicated choices in the face of deep uncertainty."
"We didn't know!" the author laments.
After three years of living through the pandemic, the author all but admits that "the experts" were just as clueless about how to approach it as your next-door neighbor. "The experts" did not know even the most obvious things.
They didn't know that wearing a dirty piece of cloth over your face would not amount to anything other than a sinus infection. Seemed like even a third-grader could've figured that one out — and many did.
They didn't know that walking on the beach was the safest activity one could do during a pandemic.

I say take the January 6 prisoner situation and give these cretins 10X worse.
There’s no shortage of peeps who need to be locked up.
So you destroyed millions of peoples lives and the economy because you didn’t know. Apology not accepted. There must be criminal proceedings.
They are not disgraced. They are perhaps getting nervous, but all the monied institutions still sing their praises every day. Yes, they are a disgrace but not in the eyes of the people and institutions that matter to them.
Sure sounds like an admission of guilt to me
Some folks never forget. Some folks never forgive.
"Expert" is made up of two words:
ex--a has-been
spurt--a stream of urine
Vaxxes have always killed people.
They knew.
They knew that a muzzle that comes from a box that says NOT FOR USE IN HEALTHCARE SETTINGS on it would NEVER stop the transmission of an airborne upper respiratory virus.
Typical liberal— never mind the consequences of their stupidity, it’s just their good intentions that count.
Oster was very much opposed to long school closings. You’re going after someone who was on your side.
They knew that lockdowns that crammed people together in illegal multifamily dwellings, in buildings with elevators and stairwells would continue to spread communicable disease.
They knew that therapeutics worked, that Vitamin D and zinc deficiency were issues.
Their intentions were never good.
CoupFlu has NEVER been about public health.
Something that I like to call “mass medical staff psychosis” took place across the medical world. During the summer of COVID RIOTS leading up to the communist takeover I asked; “Are the hospital tents in the parking lot filling up?” and of course the answer was that they were empty.
They knew that the 6 foot social distancing requirement was bogus from the start.
I wish this was being brought up more during the election!
I want this election to be a repudiation of everything the left did during covid!
These people need to be made an example of, as a reminder of what will happen if they try this bs again.
I’ll be just as forgiving as they were.
