Bunch of roads raging idiots chased her to stop her. Then shoot a pregnant woman you chased to her house. Congrats idiots, you can brag to your kids about your big manly shootout. Lord forbid you park down the street, watch at a distance, and wait for the cops.
she had every right to protect herself from this group....
its all his word and his buddies word and naturally they are going to support their friend....
this women did not shoot.....she was shot and killed....
karma....karma....I hope it comes quickly to this little gunslinger.....
I just don't see any justice in this at all....
they were on HER property....at HER house....there were many of them and one of her....
I hope the family gets a good civil attorney because the criminal justice system failed her badly....
by whose acct did she “hit” him?....if it was all his buddies then this whole story stinks.
Yes we do, but, most have Ghost Writers.
It’s okay because they didn’t throw the book at him.
What a story. Obviously wrong to hit and run. If she intentionally hit the biker with her car add another felony charge. She’s obviously in some kind of emotional state and now add paranoia because people are following her home. She goes in and gets a gun to confront the people following her. Tragedy ensues.
I don’t know the full story here.
What was the original incident?
Why would you, along with others, follow a single woman to her home?
You have her license plate.
> Bunch of roads raging idiots chased her to stop her. Then shoot a pregnant woman you chased to her house. <
The woman was foolish to run out of her house with gun. She should have stayed inside, and called the cops. But your post brings needed balance to the incident. There are no good guys in this story.
Everyone involved provided lessons in what not to do.
IIRC, she hit the motorcyclist with her car then sped off................
More detail in this story.
If true, the guy belongs behind bars.
Read the story linked in post #38.
Yep. She shouldāve blocked herself in the house and called the cops. A lot of these shootings are one too crazy emotionally charged people collide.
Lot of things wrong here. By persuing her, he escalated the confrontation, and negated the chanced to escape. By going onto her yard, she could have invoked the stand your ground rule.
He had witnesses, he could have gotten what he wanted just by taking her plate.
Agree.
Further, at least as far as Castle Doctrine in Florida goes, if an invader with a firearm turns tail and runs away, the property owner cannot pursue the perp and fire at him while he is in retreat.
Firing at a retreating perp is not self-defense. The perp no longer represents an imminent existential threat. He is retreating. Castle Doctrine also extends to your vehicle as well, as the courts have ruled.
The perp no longer posed a threat to the property owner in his Castle (motorcycle) as she was in retreat in her own vehicle and it would be illegal for him to pursue her. Additionally the motorcyclist put unknown parties at risk firing at the perp in or near the perp’s home not knowing who else was present if he shot into the home.
Not sure why the judge ruled this way. Maybe as a test case? This one will go up on appeal. Dollars to donuts, the lower court’s ruling will be vacated and reversed. It’s happened before.
I wonder if the Police investigated the driving citation history of all those involved in the collision and pursuit.
By my experience, motorcyclists are significantly more aggressive and provocatory drivers that the general population, and even more so in a group.
Women can be intimidated and frightened by incidents like this to the point of fear for their lives, and make untrained unprofessional defensive decisions.
I also wonder if the Police tried to find any security video of the collision.
I think this case suffers from a lack of evidence.
Fair disclosure, I hold a driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement, I own and drive a motorcycle.

That’s the way I am. Somebody gets mad at me for something, and I don’t know what it would be since I’m a 5 mph over the speed limit in the slow lane kinda guy, and decides to flip me off, I don’t follow and return the flip. I shrug my shoulders and if I see them slowing down ahead of me, ostensibly to continue the confrontation, I find the first turn to make and get outta there.
Let them have a bad day with someone else.
Like Willie Nelson said, “you can’t hang a man for killing a woman who’s trying to steal his horse.”
The librarian chose poorly.
