Gay bars in Milwaukee, Wisconsin are banning customers from wearing Jeffrey Dahmer Halloween costumes, because the famed serial killer preyed on his victims in the city's LGBT community.
The convicted serial killer famously targeted the gay male community in the Wisconsin city for a decade-and-a-half in the late seventies to early nineties.
During that time, he killed 17 men and boys, whose bodies he dismembered and sometimes ate.
Interest in the slaughter has spiked with the release of the Netflix drama Dahmer starring Evan Peters, which sparked a fresh wave of interest in the grim case.
Those donning Dahmer get-ups will be denied entrance at LGBT watering holes D.I.X. in the Midwest city this Halloween.
Representatives of This is It! told local channel WISN 12 that despite Dahmer never having come to their bar, they have 'been getting phone calls ever since the Netflix series aired because we are the oldest LGBTQ+ bar in Milwaukee, and in the Midwest.'
'This, coupled with the popularity of the series and people on social media toying with the idea that somehow dressing up like this evil person would be a good idea, led the bar to make a statement that such hateful and disrespectful costumes will not be allowed in our space.'

You OK with am Ed Gein costume?
I thought it was that he was having a friend over, for dinner.
Wondering how they’d feel about a Paul Pelosi costume.
I think that would be weird and disturbing. And if they are carrying a lamp, I’m gpne.
Not any worse, nor any better than any other wacky SOB.
Remember the Green River killer?
Son of Sam?

He was a gay male
I really didn’t need another reason to hate Halloween but here we are.
Since that was back when I was a tyke, I got to hear about it at the time.
I watched the special about him and he was effed up in the head. Parents, if I remember right.
BTW..they used to play cribbage with him at the nut house and they said that come full moon..you had to lock his ass up in a cell.
Other than that he acted perfectly normal.
Seriously!
My wife took care of one who cut her baby up and flushed it down the toilet.
My Wife had 35 plus years in the mental healthcare occupation and NEVER turned her back on any of them.
Really tolerant ain’t they?
Remarkable how the media always seems to omit that fact.
Peggy Lee takes a look and asks:
“Is that all there is to a Cannibal Costume?
Is that all there is?”
I guess any ‘Props’ cost extra.
I was expecting at least one imitation half eaten
‘drumstick’ sticking out of the hip pockets.
I kinda don’t blame them. It’s a sore topic for them, for obvious reasons. Some people have a dark sense of humor about it and can deal, but a lot of people probably can’t.
I dunno. I don’t think I’d feel great about someone dressing up as a historic rapist and serial killer of women with necrophilic tendencies, then bumping into them at a bar.
I’m with you. it is my least favorite holiday. Too much focus on the occult, trick or treaters showing up when you have dogs barking, etc. I am happy when it’s over.
Yeah
Totally unneeded ban IMO.
Besides they should let them dress that way if they want.
All the gays there in the bars, eat each other out routinely anyways.
who has an appetite for that kind of humor?

lol that’s funny- wonder what they think about john wayne gacey costumes
When I was in high school, I took my little sisters out trick or treating. No costume and I stood on the sidewalk while the kiddos went to the doors collected their loot.
I did purloin the occasional Snickers or Reese’s from them, though.
Nobody over 11 or 12-ish trick or treated back then.

I have one that has come trick or treating to my house for at least 20 years, always accompanied by his father and we always load him up with the goodies. He will always mentally be about 6 years old and he is fond of dressing up as a pirate.
That’s an exception.
And that’s very sweet.
What, they're not proud of "The Qu**r That Made Milwaukee Famous?"
