I’m pretty sure that I now have a lifetime supply of ICE vehicles on hand. I could always buy more, but there is no real need.
Getting fuel seems to be the existential issue.

“The expected lifespan of the Swedish cars in these studies is about 125,000 miles, “
Ridiculous number.
And a word search fails to find that number.

You don’t need an elaborate simulation of the resources that go into manufacturing an EV. Just look at the energy it consumes and the efficiency.
Going by what the EV fanboys say EV motor efficiency is 85% and ICE motor efficiency is 30%. OK accepting this what next? The motor in an EV gets its electrons from a battery which is 95% efficient at returning to energy that was put into it. Not too bad so far, but where does the battery get its energy? Most get it from special charging units that are 90% efficient and the chargers get their energy from the distribution network 96% efficient which gets it from the transmission network which Is 92% efficient which gets its energy from various sources the largest of which is fossil, then nuclear then hydro and then wind 6% and solar 2% the so-called called renewables. Since the sun only shines during the day and wind capacity factor is 36% we really only get 3% out of renewables. Hydro and nuclear are base load plants so they run at maximum capacity leaving fossil to pick up the slack. Depending on where you look fossil is somewhere between 64% and 85% of the mix. Add 5% to the bottom and you come up with fossil as 69% of the mix. And fossil plants convert fossil fuel to energy at 33% efficiency.
So if you do the math you get EVs being 21% efficient at converting fossil fuel to energy compared to ICE engines at 30%. But since generation is not all fossil use 69% to get the final figure of 30.1% efficiency. That is EVs burn fossil fuel with about the same efficiency as modern ICE engines.
But wait there’s more. EVs run about 33% greater mass than comparable EVs so divide that 30.1% by 1.33 to get the final fuel efficiency of EVs giving 23% final fossil fuel efficiency
So in short EVs are a fraud when it comes to saving the planet without getting into the far greater resources required to produce them. They burn fossil fuels less efficiently than modern ICE engined vehicles
“ comparing the greenhouse gas effects of a new Tesla to a 15-year-old Kia that’s driven only about 4,000 miles a year, and concluded that at that rate it would take his friend more than a decade to burn off the Tesla’s carbon footprint.”
And therein lies the fraud for all to see
I watch “This Old House” episodes on Pluto tv and they had a season where they talked about building a net zero house....
All the lumber, metal, manufacturing etc. and they had solar panels and heat pumps that went into building the house and they were on camera lying about the house being net zero!
They even visited a site where they owner spent over $50,000 on solar and wind power and bragged how little it costs each year compared to the utility rates. The owner was in denial on the $50,000 cost to start with!!
Now we hear those that say how great electric cars are when it just is not so. They do not come close to working anywhere near as well as gas and diesel powered vehicles.
