Deion Sanders Reacts To College GameDay's Big Decision
The Spun ^ | Oct 26, 2022 | Daniel Bates

In another monumental win for Deion Sanders and the Jackson State football program, ESPN's "College GameDay" is heading to campus for the first time ever this Saturday.

Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and the gang will be on-hand for the Tigers' rivalry game against Southern.

Something that Sanders spoke on the gravity of with Mississippi's Clarion Ledger.

“I don’t think our kids understand the magnitude,” Coach Prime said. “They really don’t. The grown folks do. But I don’t think we as HBCUs understand the magnitude of 'College GameDay' being here. We don’t.”

Adding, “I just hope we as a city and as a school – we always talk about culture – understand the magnitude of what’s about to transpire. I hope we do our homework as a city and I’m not just putting this on the students. I mean as a city, to come out and support this GameDay and make sure it is what it normally is and then some on a weekly basis."

“We need to put on for our city for real this weekend. This is huge.”

Great for Jax State. Might be part of the push to get Neon Deion into a major university, I've been hearing Auburn.

The other HBCU coaches hate Deion.

If Deion goes to Auburn, it’s going to make those Aflac commercials with Saban a lot more interesting.

When are they going to a historically white college?
(MIT, Yale, Air Force Academy, etc.)

Auburn? Really? Perhaps, the impression of Bo with the stiff arm still lives on within him. Great players. Glad Deion is helping JS; he has said he’s open to other places. UF? lol. UF hasn’t been the same since hall and spurrier. meyer doesn’t count.

Liberals are largely just contrarians.

They don’t stand for anything, they just oppose normalcy, decency, and whatever our side is for.

In other words...a-holes.

Deion most likely coach at his Alma Mater, FSU. No way he’d ever come to UF.

Personally, I think if Deion went Auburn or another Power 5 school especially in the SEC he would be very formidable.

The name of the game is recruiting, until someone catches up to Alabama and Georgia then for the most part, we are all playing for 2nd place.

Yes, a team like LSU or this year Tennessee can catch up and beat Alabama or Georgia but on a consistent basis, no one has been able to compete with them.

“Might be part of the push to get Neon Deion into a major university, “

Insaw a special on him a couple of weeks ago. He is doing this for Jackson State and Black colleges, not as a stepping stone to elite schools.

This decision was made by Fox choosing to televise the OSU/PSU game.

I hope your right, like I said, the other HBCU coaches don’t like what Deion is doing one bit. He’s forcing them to raise their standards.

I stopped watching anything on ESPN other than live college football games about 12 or so years ago. I’ve had the same rule for the major networks since the 20th century.

I don’t miss them one bit.

I’ll remind you, LSU had a super team a couple of years ago with a Heisman winning QB, NFL superstar receivers and was recruiting lights out, less than 2 years later they fired the coach.

The point is, the Vols are having a great year, but things change quickly in the SEC.

It’s not just one stellar recruiting class that makes the team, it’s 3,4,5 or more in a row which is where Alabama and Georgia are at.

Going out and buying a recruiting class which is legal now is not always the answer, Texas A&M is a prime example, they had according to some one of the greatest recruiting classes ever last and are now in chaos.

If you look at the last 10 years or so in college football, it’s been Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma and no one else to compete with them.

With the right coach, it doesn’t matter what the record is when they take over, they begin to win right away.

When Saban took over Alabama they went 6-6 his first year and were national title contenders quick, same for Kirby Smart.

Miami was on the verge of giving up football until Howard Schnellenberger took over started their dynasty by recruiting the best players out of South Florida.

FSU had gone 1-10 and 0-11 in back-to-back years until Bobby Bowden took over and had a 30-year run of greatness.

When Spurrier took over at Florida, they had not won more than 6 games in a number of years and he wins 9 the first year and then dominated the SEC for a decade.

The point is, getting the right coach is the key, if you do, you can win pretty quickly, but it takes multiple great recruiting classes in a row to compete for a national title.

I think Hugh Freeze will be Auburn’s next coach.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who literally can’t stand the lying, cultural BS, and overly dramatic nonsense that ESPN has injected into sports since they started.

Your life has better meaning now no doubt.

Never watched any of the commentary shows, it's a flat out woke bunch of losers, always has been.
