Unless I misunderstand, the process still relies on strapping a person into an MRI machine..Of course, additionally it only reveals what areas of the brain were active, giving a a very broad indication of the subject of the thought.
studying nonverbal behavior is as accurate if you know what you are looking for I would hypothesize...
Consider the non verbal raising of one's hands.
Did the subject raise hands to strike a blow, or to deflect a blow? Same use of oxygen in same areas of brain for either intent.
telepathy is the communication of the angels, not mortals.
I'm sure the FIBs can tell you a subject's clear intent by detecting what area of the brain is using oxygen.
And they will inform you of your intent to lie when they "interview" YOU.
