Voters in Western Ukraine voted for Zelensky in 2019 to “reboot” peace talks with Russia and disenfranchised voters in Eastern Ukraine. He did the opposite. He started a bombing campaign of Eastern Ukraine and began the process of seeking NATO membership. Both of which were red lines to Russia.
