I haven’t read the article, but I do have a little bit of insight for you. It’s very difficult to keep a surgically created ‘neo-vagina’ open. It closes up because the body regards it as a wound. And then, the poor trans person has to use dilators, ever larger dilators, but eventually, it closes. What a lot of MtF trans persons want is ‘depth’. This whole S, M, L and XL bit is braggadocio. Perhaps he was trying to convince himself that he does have depth, that he could engage with a man the way a woman would. It’s all part of the fantasy. I can’t help but feel a measure of genuine sympathy for them.

Im 74 I never used to carry Tampons and pads with me everywhere ...
I kept some in my desk at work just in case and a ready supply at home ...
