"You can stop us using the songs but you can’t erase our memories shame on you Noel Gallagher"
Liam Gallagher has claimed that there will be no Oasis songs in his upcoming Knebworth 22 documentary because Noel Gallagher “blocked them”.
Announced earlier this week, Knebworth 22 will document Liam’s return earlier this summer to Knebworth, where he performed 26 years on from Oasis’ pair of 1996 shows at the Hertfordshire site.

“No Oasis songs as the angry squirt has blocked them,” he replied. “[Noel] also blocked the Oasis [song] I sang for Taylor Hawkins tribute[,] he’s a horrible little man.”
Another fan then replied to Liam’s tweet, saying “[Noel] was praising u on [sic] his last interview. This is maddening. The doc will still be excellent tho.”
In reply, Liam wrote: “What [Noel] says and does are two different things he’s a sad little dwarf.” The singer later added that “it’s the only but [sic] of power [Noel’s] got left[,] he knows he’s coasting into the [oblivion]”.
Returning to the subject a few hours later, Liam wrote: “You can stop us using the songs but you can’t erase our memories shame on you Noel Gallagher.”
Knebworth 22 will be released in cinemas worldwide on November 17, with tickets available here from 10am on Friday (October 21).
“I’m still in shock that I got to play Knebworth two nights, 26 years after I played it with Oasis,” Liam said in a statement about the film. “I’m still trying to get my head around it. To have played to multiple generations at the same venue so many years apart was beyond Biblical. I’m so glad that we documented it.
“Knebworth for me was and always will be a celebration of the fans as well as the music. Enjoy the film and let’s do it again in another 26 years. LG x”
Earlier this week, Noel Gallagher said in an interview that there was “no point” in an Oasis reunion as the band sell “as many records now” as they did when they were together.
It’s licensing for another media.
One can sing for personal amusement.
One may not sing and make money off of it.
Those cats put the fun in dysfunctional.
That’s too bad. “Wonderwall” is an ok song.
If you go to an open mic and play a song, the facilities subscription to BMI or ASCAP pays for the royalties?
You are not being paid to sing so it is ok.
If you were being paid to sing that song it opens up a whole different set of contracts, compensations and lawyer bills.
So, every time you go to a concert, every single cover song has been cleared by someone working for the band?
Oasis has always been overrated.
I watched the documentary on the original Knebworth on a AA flight to Europe (9 hours to kill, few good alternatives). The family dynamic was the classic case on the Younger A-hole brother that used his cool older brother to get ahead in life, but never gave him credit for it. Seen it multiple time in my extended family. A-holes always blame OTHERS for being A-Holes.
A 3 day weekend driving around london made me realize why Oasis was such a phenomena in the UK in the 1990’s.
Like me on the Airplane, the people in the UK are stuck on a island with 40 prepackaged, made in a marketing factory, songs that play on rotation every 2 hours.
Oasis had 4 good pop songs. they aren’t the Beatles, the Who, Zepplin or the Stones.
The lack of alternatives made them superstars... in the UK, and what I learned from the original documentary is Liam is a A-hole and don’t beleieve anything he tells you.
No, they both are. Look it up.
Those two exceed the famous Kinks brothers, Ray & Dave, spats.
Or John and Tom Fogerty.
I'm sure they both are, but it looked like Noel did all the work and Liam just popped in to sing every other song and pretend to play a tamborine.
And only one of them is whining to the press, here.
True. John didn’t stop with Tom (RIP), He blew up Cosmo and Stu too.
Who cares? Oasis sucks.
Talented songwriters. Back in the 90s they boasted they could write a hit song anytime they wanted. What they forgot was that it takes fans to actually buy the song in order for it to be a hit, and tastes in music changes. ‘Champagne Supernova’ is my personal favorite.
As far as their relationship. I think it was New Musical Express that included a recording in an issue that mainly consisted of them saying ‘You F*** Off, No You F*** Off’. Great songwriters they may be, but listening to two drunks slurring an endless stream of curse words confirmed that rock stars aren’t the brightest bulbs in the room.
“He (Liam) is the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.” - Noel Gallagher.
Ive always prefered The Stone Roses vs Oasis
Amazing band
