Maybe I should rethink.
I hate liver, but somehow I love Braunschweiger.
Since the liver is the "oil filter" of the critter, why wouldn't it be full of toxins?
Now you’re toxin!

++++++++++++++++++++
That’s what I’ve always heard.. but it’s filled with B Vits.. including that “illegal” one, B15, that started this whole liver slide lol.
As much as I hesitate to join the”liver” slide, I have a few things to say. The Oil Filter analogy is not quite complete. An oil filter is removed, disposed, and replaced. The liver is more of a recycling plant. The liver does break down components but it also stores and rebuilds so many products essential to life. Proteins, glucose, many hormones and blood products begin on the liver factory. Too many toxins can overload the organ like the chocolate factory episode of I Love Lucy but it is full of valuable nutrients.
I just finished smearing Braunschweiger on french toast. Mmmmmm.
Liver and onions with a little white rice is hard to beat. Only baked Mutton Snapper stuffed with crab meat dressing compares.

I think it depends on the critter.
I have read (so no guarantee of accuracy), that if you eat polar bear liver - even a few bites - it will kill you.
