Dear Miss Manners: My husband and I are expecting our second child. When I delivered our son, before the pandemic, there were no restrictions on visitors at our hospital, and any required and routine vaccinations were not an issue, despite known political differences among our family members.
Now, things have changed. My husband’s father, sister and her entire family refuse to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, despite several cases in the family — including our son, who was too young to be vaccinated and ended up at the hospital via ambulance.
My husband and I are both very confrontation-averse, but we are not comfortable having anyone who is not fully vaccinated at the hospital. I thought to send a full-family message, so no one will be singled out, stating that we would be happy to see them in person if they have received their Tdap and coronavirus vaccines, in line with hospital regulations.
I want to pair the vaccines in the message, because I know they all have their Tdap shots up to date, and it might soften the politics associated with the newer vaccine. Is there a polite way to set these boundaries?

Their very young son got Corona and it came on so fast and furious they had to send him to the hospital in an ambulance?
I call BS.
Dear Miss Manners, I dont want my vaxxed inlaws visiting anywhere. Like happened with Mereks disease I dont want these variant producing liberal spike factories anywhere near me or my children...
“If I were the unvaccinated grandpa baby’s first Christmas present would be a .22. Just ask my kids.”
And it will last a lifetime, if taken care of properly. A hand-knit sweater? The kid will grow out of it in four months.
Every family has one dip sh%t.
The baby has a better chance of becoming ill in the hospital by catching something from the doctors or staff, or germs in the hospital, than it does from grandma and grandpa. My sister was in the hospital recently because of dehydration, and low sodium and potassium. That was treated successfully but the staph infection she got while there nearly killed her.
I have to say it’s her baby, her rules.
They may be STUPID rules, but they probably make a lot of stupid decisions.
I feel bad for any relatives or children of this neurotic woman. Shame the kid can’t abort the parent.

End of your line then.
I am trying to think of a time where the world was awesome for all. Nope can’t.
You need an education that includes critical thinking. You need to be informed about what these injections have really done and not done. But go ahead and piss off your in-laws. See if they are there to help when you need them. Your family is more important than your stupid ass virtue signaling, because it isn’t science.
Sincerely,
Mr. No-manners
It used to be called DPT, but i guess somebody had to change it.
I’ve long thought that the letters that are actually published are written by the advice columnist themselves. There must be some new coordination to get people to take these shots.
That is the mmr vaccine
That would be a very petty grandparent. The grandchild has no say in the matter. This mom has already been through COVID with her son. It’s natural that she’s afraid for her baby, even though babies are in one of the least risky groups. Her son is probably also in a less risky age group, but he managed to contract it anyway. COVID isn’t a black and white situation. To vaccinate or not to vaccinate, it’s all a gamble. There are no guarantees either way.
Miss Manners is a stupid Karen.
All the people we know who have come down with Covid multiple times have been vaxed and boosted. We do not like to be in close proximity to vaccinated people. They are the ones who will likely get you sick. The vaccinated are the “super-spreaders”. Eventually this will come out.
I like your style
LOL!!!!
This is an excellent question and kind of calls into doubt much of what we've been told about this dreaded global pandemic. Remember early on when the news reported people dropping dead on the streets of Wuhan and Chinese funeral pyres you could see from space?
