The artist formerly known as Kanye West could face a lawsuit from the family of George Floyd for spreading the incorrect and unproven narrative that he died of a drug overdose during his wildly controversial Drink Champs podcast appearance.
Civil rights attorney Lee Merritt posted on Twitter Sunday that a lawsuit against Ye is under consideration based on the disgraced artist’s “false statements about the manner of his death.”

It ain’t unproven that George Floyd had taken enough fentanyl to kill himself. I hope this goes to court, where there’s not a progressive DA, and it is shown indubitably that Floyd died from Fentanyl OD.

I use to wrestle in High school and had knees, legs, elbows on the back of my neck more times than I can remember, and I don’t ever remember not being able to breathe. You know what makes it difficult to breathe? Fentanyl.

Agreed. The “discovery will be interesting” trope is endlessly flogged here. This is all a big nothing. The tweet pictured in the article accurately states there is no cause of action for slander of the dead. And the jag off relatives have no cause of action, either
