Have the DC police ever explained why they let all of those peaceful Trump supporters inside the Capitol? Has anyone ever asked them, under oath?

I can think of three reasons:

1. As kind of a pressure valve maneuver, intended to lower tensions by allowing some people inside. But this is contrary to later claims that there was advanced warning of trouble, that extremists were physically threatening members of Congress, and that an insurrection was in progress.

2. A minority of DC police sympathized with the demonstrators, believed they were peaceful, and thought they had a right to go inside. But if this scenario were true, these officers probably would have been fired, and we have heard no reports of that.

3. That some of the police were part of the scheme to build the "insurrection" narrative by allowing hundreds of peaceful people inside the Capitol, changing the optics, and setting them up for later arrest and prosecution. This significantly increased - probably tripled - the number of people arrested, further propping up the "insurrection" narrative. Given subsequent events, this seems the most likely explanation.

The purpose of the J6 Committee is not to answer questions like this, or about Ray Epps, or about the lack of security, or about the improbable narrative about the DNC and RNC bombs, but to prevent them from being asked, all in pursuit of a pre-determined narrative.

There were 2 separate moments at the Capitol were people entered.

The violent scene at 12 pm. This was Antifa.

2:30. This is when the police invited Patriots into the Capitol.

Where their story falls down is that people coming from out of town to the Capitol Building would not have a clue how to navigate around it without somebody leading them.   You know, like undercover FBI agent provocateurs.   People coming from out of town have believed all their lives that it is normal and allowed to enter the Capitol Building.   It did used to be allowed before the radical Democrat Communists destroyed polite and civilized society.
