“...the old Florida Alligator Farm...”

Where was that?

I’ve been to the St. Augustine one many times.
I’ve still got my huge cup you can buy beers for.
Only in Florida can you get drunk around hundreds of alligators...

I was on the other side of JAX in Flemming Island.
It’s Clay County, about 10 miles south of NAS JAX.

It was on US1 halfway between Callahan and Hilliard.
Been defunct for many years. I think it closed finally sometime around 1981. They had a small zoo behind the store, alligator pit, black panther, peacocks, monkeys, snakes, etc.

US1 used to be one of the main tourist routes into Florida along with US17 before I-95 was completed thru to Georgia..............

Callahan is also the northern terminus of Florida’s famous A1A....................Key West being the other one............
