The long view of history may miss a few, but rest assured that God won’t.

Excellent find! Excellent read. Thank you, James Patrick Riley.
You really laid it on the line!

My Greek father-in-law had a memory of Nazi collaborators being run off a cliff, to their deaths, shortly after the Allied victory. Um ... I don't think we've reached that point yet ...

When Time Stood Still - ELO
No pictures on an empty wall
Nobody there, no one at all
Just echoes in the ivory halls
When time stood still
[Verse 3]
Days lined up outside the door
For time had stopped, there was no more
In a lonely world
Such a lonely world
[Chorus 2]
No pictures on an empty wall
No Toulouse, Vincent, or Pablo
Just echoes in the ivory halls
When time stood still
[Chorus 3]
No big machine or April showers
No submarines, no plastic flowers
Just echoes in the ivory towers
When time stood still
[Outro]
When time stood still
When time stood still
When time stood still

Very well written and true. Momma said,
"Sooner or later evrryone has to sit down to a banquet of consequences."

Makes me chuckle when dems talk about being on the “right side of history”.

I like the “being run off a cliff” option.

The unfortunate flaw with this response is determining who decides who is a “collaborator”.
There is little preventing something like that turning into a large-scale “salem witch trial” where old feuds are manifest in the hysteria.
