I have heard that the vast majority of divorces are initiated by the women. Of course there can be reasons for seeking divorce completely separate from sexual feelings. But maybe sex desire plays into that.
Could it be that both sexes crave sexual variety?
Could it be that this desire for different partners will tie in with the biological imperative of reproduction, such that the males and females with the strongest desires will be the ones who reproduce the most?
In my work I find that women initiate divorce because they cannot abide the ambiguity of separation. Men on the other hand do not mind separation ambiguity at all and it actually protects them from serious ties with other women as they play the field.
Let me ask you one thing:
How many women agree to marry in order to secure (what they hope will be) regular sex?
In other words: How many women, after the wedding, breathe a sigh of relief and think, "Finally! Now I don't have to perform a song and dance anymore to get the regular sexual relief I need in order to think straight!"
Regards,
No. Because of birth control and abortion. Which are also voluntary and yet defeat the imperative of reproduction by design.
And Lewinskys.
