People like to paint Rob Gronkowski as a dumb frat boy (and he seems to enjoy the characterization) but from the day he began making money, he put it away, didn’t buy cars, houses, new homes, or even new clothes.
He invested it all, and said that he has never touched a cent of any paycheck he got from the NFL.
If true, sounds pretty smart to me.
I have known many very wealthy individuals over the years, who were children of the Great Depression and who became wealthy by working blue collar jobs for 40+ years and never spending anything. Many people whose families lost everything in the Great Depression saved money for the rest of their lives because they were afraid that they could someday lose everything again.
Generally, their children had no problem spending it all after their parents died.
