YOU VILL THINK ZEE PROPER THOUGHTS!!!
PAPERS, PLEASE!!!
Shut my account down yesterday.
Good for you. I haven’t used one in years.
Guess I won’t be buying anything on eBay ever again.
I dropped PayPal like a bad habit a few years ago and have not seen any reason at all why I should use their services. This just confirms my decision.
A quick google search to avoid a reposting would show that they quickly reversed this — https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/4099369/posts
And pretty obviously lied about it — https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4099244/posts
I barely use paypal but I think I’ll be taking my credit card info of that site
I haven’t used Paypal in years - and this story confirms that I never will. Many other options available that are widely accepted, none of which penalize me for what I think of say.
This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever observed a business doing.
Now people are having problems closing out their accounts
Does PayPal actually have a comment forum? We use Zelle and Venmo and there is no comment section.
Millions of honest Conservatives with PayPal accounts should now begin spamming the Internet with statements that very nearly (but not quite) count as "misinformation."
PayPal then has to expend millions to surveil and evaluate and adjudicate the millions of statements and, in many cases, levies the $2,500.
The Conservatives then take them to court.
Side question: What if one doesn't have $2,500 on one's account? What if one has only $3.98 on one's account? Would one then owe PayPal the rest?!
Regards,
Well, they didn’t actually reverse it. The language is still included. But then they try to reassure users that they didn’t mean it. Not that the understanding of the meaning of that language is wrong, but that it was accidentally inserted. If they stated that people misinterpreted them, or that part A wasn’t meant to refer only to part C, D, and E, but not F, you could use their statement in a court to defend your money. But that they said they didn’t mean to, but left it in? That’s fuzzier.
PayPal will steal money out of your account if they don’t agree with your political stances. (They claim they have dropped this policy, but you can see where they want to go—control over your spending habits.)
I would assume that FR will stop using PayPal?
Had to first ask the wife how PayPal actually functions (i.e., what its business model is).
Recommend that doctors, pharmacists, plumbers, cabbies, etc. likewise update their "Conditions and Terms of Business" to prohibit totalitarian behavior on the part of payment platforms.
Corporate executives: Beware!
Regards,
Wife just explained to me that it is possible to make purchases on eBay without using PayPal.
Next on my agenda this morning: Asking the wife to explain to me what eBay is.
Regards,
Pay Pal announced that they will not be taking money for misinformation. This was after word got out about the policy they published.
Are you being sarcastic / feigning ignorance? Wife tells me that PayPal is (supposedly) a purely financial payment platform - so I guess "distributing, disseminating, etc. 'hateful' misinformation" refers to ANY activity in the real world (e.g., giving an impassioned speech on Speaker's Corner of Hyde Park).
Regards,
