F1 is a joke these days- its not racing, its chasing. Basically whoever wins qualifying on Saturday wins the race on Sunday. And every seasons its just two, maybe three teams, who win all the races.

Indy car is much, much more competitive open wheel racing

Nope.
Verstappen has won 12 races this year, most of them NOT from pole.
He even won from 14th grid position in the Belgian Grand Prix.

NASCAR is an even bigger joke. Once all the computers and electronic came into play everything changed. Just like regular cars.

Indycar is the most compelling open wheel racing series in the world. So I agree with you. However, Formula one is not a joke. It is the real deal.

I used to think that.

But, the F1 tracks are much more difficult. It’s not just about going fast. It’s about driving, pit strategy, tire strategy, and the long haul of the season.

I will watch Indy series and NASCAR…the good thing about racing is you can enjoy all of the different types. Each type has its pros and cons.

The past few F1 seasons have provided quite a few interesting races and finishes; and, with more chassis constructors and power unit mfgs than Indycar, there are more combinations and uncertainties.

Indycar racing does have a few interesting races on road courses, e.g. Sonoma, RoadAmerica, Circuit of the Americas, and especially Laguna Seca.

That said, indycar racing can resemble bicycle racing when it's sometimes just a peloton with the winner timing when to dash for the finish after playing following the leader for most of the race. Indycar roundyrounds (with the exception of the 500) remind me more of stock car racing.
