The rush to push the whole world into EVs in the next decade or too is madness.

Lately I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm the one who has lost his mind.

Water won’t extinguish an e.v. battery fire.

Much less quickly.

It makes them worse, the heat just turns it into extra oxygen and hydrogen fuel to make it burn faster.

They have to burn themselves out of fuel.

That crap is like thermite.

You can submerge them but that doesn’t put them out it just keeps stuff around it from catching fire, and dilutes the lethal smoke with steam.

All fireman can do is wait around and watch.

Every e.v. that went through that storm is now a ticking firetimebomb waiting to go off I bet.

Once the corrosion does its thing,,, poof !

If im right, this will be the last media we hear about it.

Have visited their family’s restaurant in PC Beach many dozens of times over past 50 years. Captain Anderson’s. Our favorite restaurant in all the world.

“Sea water does amazing things..”

indeed ... pretty much anything metal soaked by seawater is hosed ... can’t imagine how destructive such a soaking would be to EV batteries made by soldering thousands of small 1.5v cells together ...

Sea water does amazing things....

Wonder if this could be solved by car-boats in magazines like Popular Science and Popular Mechanics in the late 50s and early 60s. (Not the flying car ones). Amphicars.

Google as amphicar images.

ICE cars explode from water, too ....

... provided you dry them out first, then fill them with explosives.

A sane person to an insane society must appear insane.

I'm actually writing a novel right now about a nice man being driven mad by an insane society. I haven't quite gotten there yet, but in the end, he's going to accept the insanity and feel content ... a bit like Winston Smith in 1984.

I would not only bee on the look out for EVs coming from there but regular ICE cars too. It was typical in the past to send these flood damaged cars all over the country to be sold to unsuspecting buyers.

There were 174,000 vehicle fires in 2021.

EVs were not a big number of those vehicles.

Looking back to the 1980s, there were upwards of 450,000 vehicle fires per year. LINK

No only putting out fires, but you need to know how to disable the electric systems to avoid lethal electrocutions.

Which is why alkaline metals are stored under mineral oil. Even high humidity can start a fire.
