Sasse won reelection in 2020, and his term was not set to expire until 2026. But Sasse has been at odds with Trump and his own party for years. After the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, Sasse was one of seven Republican senators who voted to convict Trump for his role in inciting the deadly riot.
Senate Republican leadership has been alerted of the news, a leadership aide told NBC News.
According to Fox News, Sasse is headed to the University of Florida for a lucrative gig.

So I tried to e-mail him, which didn’t work because I had to live in Nebraska.(Too bad Senators couldn’t only raise campaign money from the people in their state)

Combine that with him being an anti Trump dickhead, leads me to believe he made the ‘right move’ before 2024.

This is as clear an indication as you will ever see that a new majority of Trumpist Republicans are heading for Washington in January. I think that Sasse understands that his Never-Trump views and attitude will have little place in the new Congress. He would rather leave under his own power than be shoved out the door.

From long distance out here in AZ. I have the sense that all Universities lean left. Is that true in gatorland in a conservative Florida. FSU is lefty, correct ?
