White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci cautioned Tuesday that "we should not be surprised" if a new COVID-19 variant emerges in the winter.
Speaking during an event with the USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism, Fauci said that while pandemic trends like hospitalizations were down nationwide, challenges still lie ahead.
"We should anticipate that we very well may get another variant that would emerge that would elude the immune response that we've gotten from infection and/or from vaccination," Fauci said, noting that there's always the risk of an uptick of respiratory diseases during the winter months.
Last winter, the omicron variant led to a surge in cases, and multiple sublineages have spread since then.
"Remember, we were going in the right direction in the summer of 2021 and along came delta. Then, in the winter – November, December of 2021 – along came omicron. And, since then, we've had multiple sublineages of omicron," he said.
The White House and health officials are encouraging eligible Americans to get an updated omicron-specific booster shot of the coronavirus vaccine.

Please hope this Fauci criminal does not do another chicken little campaign with another series of economic disasters. We are financially on the brink now; another one will push us over the edge quicker than we are going to do anyway.

There will be variants forever. You’ll be particularly vulnerable if your immune system has been damaged by the vax.
Proably the only group of people who need to be in fear and TREMBLE is the vaccinated.
Well, it IS likely that another Covid variant will emerge: that is what RNA viruses do, after all. What is important is whether the new variant(s) will be more virulent.
That remains to be seen.
And, remember, that the new bivalent vaccine will likely less effective against any new variant(s).
(Of course, we don’t even know how effective the new bivalent vaccine will be against omicron/BA-5, since it has not been tested on humans.)

There is so much WRONG with this article.
First of all, Dr. Mengele says: “We should anticipate that we very well may get another variant that would emerge that would elude the immune response that we’ve gotten from infection and/or from vaccination.”
So, in simpler words, previous infection or vaccination is no guarantee of not getting the “new” Covid variant. SO WHY GET VACCINATED OR BOOSTED? Is he already suggesting the brand spanking new BOOSTERS MAY BE WORTHLESS???? CDC recently noted that Flu shots wain after 3 months and people should wait until Dec to cover normal Flu season.
Secondly, “White House and health officials are encouraging eligible Americans to get an updated omicron-specific booster shot.” If Covid mutates like it has since DAY ONE of this SCAM, what makes anyone think that the omicron-specific booster today will be of any value at all in 3 months?
This article is so full of contradictions that I would guess Biden wrote it himself.
That's why Omicron has bottomed out into all those sub-clades and not produced a variant.
I mean, the old man is talking out of his ass -- Omicron was produced by a South African AIDS patient harboring long COVID of both Alpha and Beta. Beta is nearly extinct and Alpha's residual clades aren't far behind.
The is the way of every endemic, this is the way Spanish Flu wound down. There can only be one Ring; one final variant to rule them all.
