That's anti-science. Omicron BA5 is about as contagious as any professionally-mutated, gain-of-functioned, bioweaponized coronavirus can get. Meaning you spend 10 secs in an elevator with someone shedding BA5, you're. going. to. get. BA5. exposure. And whether or not you get sick, or how sick you get, is up to your immune system.

That's why Omicron has bottomed out into all those sub-clades and not produced a variant.

I mean, the old man is talking out of his ass -- Omicron was produced by a South African AIDS patient harboring long COVID of both Alpha and Beta. Beta is nearly extinct and Alpha's residual clades aren't far behind.

The is the way of every endemic, this is the way Spanish Flu wound down. There can only be one Ring; one final variant to rule them all.

God I can't wait until this dwarf is under Congressional oath in front of Sen. Paul in the 118th.

Or God calls him in for a face to face.

I’ve been assuming that prolonged exposure was more dangerous than a brief one. If you start with a lot of copies, the virus gets a head start on your immune system response.

Your post made me reconsider. Is it possible that the race doesn’t start until there’s a certain amount of virus in your system, and your immune system gets into the fight?
