Interesting question. Wartime brings us close to martial law.

There will be no WWIII. Not this year.
Russia is already defeated.

Russia isn’t the enemy. The deep state is.

No, but if Biden could stage a Ukrainian win before the election it would help Biden.
And by stage I mean, get them the weapons they need. Ukraine wouldn’t time their victory to help Biden. But they are listening to our advisors and they are dependent on us for weapons.

Emergency suspension of the midterms. Price controls on food and gas. Bidet will use EOs for it.

“ Everything done by Putin in this conflict is reasoned, rational and either clearly legal under international law or clearly defensible….”
What a bunch of balderdash.
U.S. foreign policy is far from perfect, and we propped up way too many stupid regimes in our history, but make no mistake: we NEVER annexed a territory as a result of a referendum taken while our troops were present on that territory’s soil.
For Putin’s actions to be reasonable, he should not have invaded but rather waited until those regions voted first independence and then requested Russian protection. That did not happen.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. No carpet bombing of cities, no fuel air bombs, no tactical nukes. Up to this point it’s been restrained and surgical. They haven’t taken off the gloves yet. I hope they do not. Read up on the Sino-Soviet border conflict of 1969

Well it won’t be WW3 but since their mantra is “BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY” nothing will surprise me coming from them.
And they’ve found their spiritual partner in MEGA-CORRUPTION in Zelensky.

I don’t think it would go over all that well. Americans don’t care about the Ukraine despite endless media coverage. Starting WW3 over that hell-hole would not exactly play well with most voters.

Putin will not admit defeat. It’s all or none. He stated that if Russia cannot exist the whole world can not be allowed to survive either.

You think nukes are now to be used when invading neighbors and in common warfare?
You are normalizing nuclear weapons as just another tool for invasion wars?

“ Everything done by Putin in this conflict is reasoned, rational and either clearly legal under international law or clearly defensible by comparison to U.S. interventions in foreign nations, which our government insist are legal.” By that standard, everything done by the US and Europe is also legal, and the only controlling authority is force.

It doesn’t matter what I think. But History like the Sino-Russian conflict of 1969 can be instructive. I will say I think our leaders have wargamed this scenario and appear to embrace it.

If the Republicans win, I don’t for a second believe they will assume power in January 2023. The Ds will do absolutely anything to prevent this.
