Wisk Aero, a startup founded in 2019 and backed by Boeing, has debuted its sixth generation remote-piloted “air taxi,” a yellow all-electric four-seat aircraft that can fly without a human pilot. The company touts its plug-in planes as the answer to city traffic congestion.

The Boeing-backed company is hoping to get approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to carry passengers as part of a commercial air taxi service, according to a report by the Verge.

Stupid. I fly a 172 that can stay airborne for 12 hours non stop. Do I just add more batteries to stay up?

If it takes Tom 4 days to recharge an electric truck, how many months does Sam take to recharge an electric passenger plane?

A lot of planes can pretty much take off and land by themselves already. A pilot onboard will probably be needed to reassure passengers.

Actually I’ve heard the cockpit in the future will only contain a pilot and a dog. The dogs job is to bite the pilot if the pilot touches any of the controls.

No pilot and you hope the batteries will last.

No way, no how.

Being battery powered and autopilot still doesn’t solve the problem of airport riots by people Biden says vote Democrat.

What about Preparations A through G?

Unsung successes, just not for hemorrhoids.

Preparation A treated Acne.
Preparation B was good for Bunions.
Preparation C was applied to Cold Sores.
Preparation D treated Diarrhea.
etc . . .

Put some peddles with each seat so that passengers can peddle to recharge the batteries while in flight.

Given what they have done with drones, it is funny seeing the comments here.

A plane that can fly 4 people from rooftop to rooftop in a city, without paying a pilot, avoiding street traffic.

Given a typical flight might be 10 miles at most, range should not be an issue.

Real question is whether you can create the infrastructure for rooftop pickup/dropoff.

"So the plane’s range depends allot on the weather?"

Reserve fuel requirements. You've got to reach your primary destination with more fuel left in the tank if the weather's crappy or it's night.

Also, your car gets worse fuel economy in winter because the air is denser. Airplanes are the same.
