M&M’s, a Mars, Incorporated product, published a press release announcing a rebrand centered on the brand’s commitment to inclusion and global belonging. As another brand taking steps to increase societal impact (e.g., the effort includes creation of the M&M’S FUNd to track the brand’s impact on its mission, which will offer resources, mentorship, opportunities and financial support in the arts and entertainment space to help ensure people have access to experiences where everyone feels they belong), perhaps it is time to pause and reflect on the need for brands to make such a shift and then promote it. When the Washington Post makes fun of such a move, satire pops up within hours to highlight the absurdity, and thoughtful writers pontificate on the fatuity of the action, it is time to ponder what marketers are doing, and more importantly, why and for whom.

The "save the world and make history' rung. The ultimate "I'll be looked up to "rung".
Nutty 'climate change' kooks are so yesterday. As much as they wish temps would really go up - they're not going up dramatically.
So we're stuck with left-wing extreme political rantings to sell candy - stupid philosophy based on today's shallow poorly thought out hysteria, pity party reasoning and dependency...
Oh well, I still like M and M's... and will continue to buy them. Too bad snarky little kids M and M's with sexy green M&M's weren't good enough.
What the Mars family is best known for is creating wonderful candy, not letting the candy degrade with cheaper ingredients, having total integrity within their production practices and clean plants and being a wonderful American company. Wish they could promote those values... the values their company was founded on.
” the brand’s commitment to inclusion and global belonging”
What the hell is ‘global belonging’? Will we never be rid of these people so we can just live our lives?
I also learned why blondes hate M&M's. They're too hard to peel.
I bet there are a few here who remember “Teletubbies”. Stupid no matter what... But, remember Jerry Falwell calling out the purple one with a deep voice and a purse? If he were alive, I’d write him an apology note for what Americans said about him...
Did you hear about the blonde who was throwing away the defective M&M’s? They had W’s on them.
Just noticed - this was published in January! I don’t remember seeing a purple one... It’s been 8 months - am I that disconnected from live advertising?
No, it’s just a psyops to convince you of that.
Where can you find these?
I’ve never seen them but it looks like Aldi’s may have their own brand. I’m going to keep my eye out for them.
It’s advertising copy. The field has been thoroughly saturated with woke fools more interested in pushing a social agenda than selling soap.
Dang it- is there an American chocolate maker who is not woke? Hate this...
They are getting too expensive anyway, will gladly give them up for good! Consider us done!
Melts in your butt, not in your hand.
