In a pinch people could make their own butter, buy heavy cream or raw milk if you can find it, get a couple of quart mason jars, fill them half full and shake vigorously until the butter forms, for taste add salt or other seasoning and presto you have butter

I like to mix the heavy cream until it is close to butter and put it on English muffins with strawberry preserves. Almost like clotted cream.

I bet one of the paint mixers at Home Depot and such would do a great job of forming butter.

I've done that....then...thanks to Jacque Pepin....I put the heavy cream in the blender...and voila...a few seconds and it was butter.

He had a show where his grand daughter was shaking a jar to make butter.

There's a video of him making it in the blender.

Or, for those not quite as vigorous, make whipped cream with a hand mixer, adding a little salt instead of sugar. Just keep whipping it and it will break down in just a few more minutes into curds and whey. Squeeze any remaining liquid out and voila there’s your butter. Give the whey to anyone who can stomach the swill that is fat free milk

If there’s a lower dairy output, there’s less cream, too. The price of heavy cream has doubled, and it takes 1 quart of cream to make a pound of butter. When cream was cheap at Aldi, I made some cultured butter, but it’s more expensive than buying butter, even at today’s prices.

“ shake vigorously”

How long would this take?

I wonder if my local Sherman Williams will help me out
