A jewelry shop owner was pistol-whipped and brutally beaten during an armed robbery in Wilmington, Delaware.
On the morning of Sept. 15, Calvin Ushery, 39, was captured interacting with the 68-year-old Korean American entrepreneur on surveillance footage inside the jewelry store located on the 100 block of West 9th Street.
In the video, Ushery can be seen pulling out a gun and grabbing the owner before pistol-whipping him in the head. The 68-year-old then falls to the ground as the suspect jumps over the display case and goes on to stomp on the man’s head. The suspect then proceeds to go through display cases and steal jewelry before fleeing the scene.

At the library before I retired a coworker said quietly “Those Asian guys in IT talk outright about hating blacks because they’re used to it at home. They’re going to get into big trouble.”
This is, of course, the exception to that particular rule...

Sickening video shows an elderly jewelry store owner getting pistol-whipped and stomped on the head — before he was hit “full force” in his skull with a hammer during the brutal, 20-minute robbery, according to kin.
Footage shared by the 68-year-old Delaware store owner’s family shows a man dressed all in black — including a mask — initially pretending to show interest in the jewelry at Solid Gold in downtown Wilmington on Sept. 15.
But then he suddenly grabs the Korean American store owner near his throat — and appears to hold a pistol to his head.
Despite his victim not appearing to resist, the black-clad thug then slams the weapon into the elderly man’s head.
Even though the first hit seems to completely daze the store owner, the attacker still hits him two more times with the weapon before allowing his victim to slump to the floor behind a store display counter.
Still not done, the attacker clambers over the counter — and starts stomping on the seemingly unconscious man’s head.
The brutality was caught in just 36 seconds of footage from the 20-minute attack and raid that the store owner’s son, Steve Suh, said was otherwise too traumatic to share.
Punishment for the criminal should be identical with a burly cop stomping on the criminals head 10 times more.

Stores in sketchy areas need to harden the location where the clerks are. It’s not that tough. In this particular case, a plastic screen running above and parallel over the display cases would have protected the clerk. Call it a Covid screen, or whatever.
There’s this convenience store in a sketchy area near me. I occasionally stop there when I’m on the way from point A to point B. The clerk is behind a counter. And that counter is easily breached. All you’ve got to do is take a few steps, and you’d be nose-to-nose with the clerk.
A simple lockable interior door would change all that. I think I’m going to mention that the next time I’m in that store. But I’ll probably just get a blank look in return.

I sometimes go to L.A’s Jewelry district. Spoke with at least 5 Iranian Jews who mostly own these shops. If it’s one ghetto animal, the store policy is to have at least 5 on the floor near the entrance, and if it’s more than one, they would rather say no, and be called racist than be another smash and grab victim. Not worth it.
I’ve noticed a lot crimes these days by “people of color” only occur if there are more than three on one for younger victims or by one on one when the perp is in their 20s and the victim is a woman od an old person. Such bravery.
My ruefull surprise? That GoFundMe has not yet cancelled the fund raising for this battered victim because the assaulter is black.
“Ushery was arrested on Sept. 22 and charged with robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and criminal mischief under $5000.”
Why no charges of aggravated assault and battery, attempted murder, mayhem (deliberate maiming, infliction of permanent disabling injury?”
Head-stomping, bashing with a hammer, ought to be treated as the purposeful and murderous crime that it is.
Look at the size of the attacker, going g after a small frail man old enough to be his father.
And whatever time he serves, some jackasses will be weeping about the carceral state, the imprisonment of beautiful Black men, and the need for restorative justice.

Calvin Ushery has not quite fully evolved to human. This subhuman is dangerous and should be quickly put on trial and then put down.
Why must a civil society live amongst such trash? He should be forever removed from society.
Well, these other ethnics need to sack up and form community safety services. Whites can’t do it; we’d be pilloried if we tried, so we fled. If you want to live in close proximity to the negro, you better have your head on a swivel.
Since it's common among the urban perps then it must not be "cruel." And if done everyday it would not be "unusual." So not cruel and unusual punishment violation. And they can debate what a deterrent it will be after a few years of statistics.
Facial reading would show he thinks everybody owes him something good they are denying him.
His head is often tilted showing skepticism and contempt for others.
He doesn’t feel remorse.
His quick resort to violent rages has gotten him into trouble for years now, sealed youthful offender records expunged or not-—they happened.
Every time the judge lets him out he is going to commit serious crimes within the first week.
Prove me wrong. I’ll check the internet.
This was not just a robbery. This was a racist hate crime. If blacks hate anyone more than Whites, it is Asians.
