The unidentified winners of an auction for over 100 green plastic Hardigg rifle shipping and storage cases from a Georgia-based online surplus company cracked open one to find at least a dozen M16s inside, reports KTRK in Houston. In what was probably the right move from a legal standpoint but what will be an epic letdown for many, they called the ATF who "quickly" arrived to pick up the guns.

Beautiful M16’s wasted. They would be better off at the bottom of a lake. The ATF is just going to sell them to the cartel.
Years ago some guy bought a couple of surplus crates from an auction at Hill AFB. Labelled machine parts. Inside were 2 brand new M2 machine guns still in cosmoline. After a brief consideration he took them back. Lol.
It was either a deliberate setup of the couple or actual incompetence on the part of the checkoff team that “cleared” the crates.
Looking at how things have been lately, may be wrong but I suspect the former.
Garland “needs” a huge bust.
I mote the ATF searched the rest of their stuff despite being told “here” about the crates.
Those appear to be collapsible butt stocks and very short barrels. I’m thinking those are M-4s y’all. Dayum!!!
They’re lucky the atf didn’t shoot them and arrest their dog.

If they didn’t say anything, two weeks later the FBI raids their home and confiscates the guns. The DOJ has their headline; “Cache of military grade weapons seized. Likely to be used in attempted overthrow of government by by rightwing extremists”.
It’s a merrick trap.
I’d at least demand just compensation from the government for seizure of my legal property. When you make the purchase, contractually you are the legal owner of all the contents. Therefore, the government needs to pay up for the seizure.
Definitely not M-4’s but good old late 1970’ & early 1980’s era M-16A2’s. I carried that type for several years. Take a good look at the news station video which shows the solid stock and rounded hand guards on the barrel.
