Funny, but Obama seems to have omitted Martha’s Vineyard from his speech. Will he open up his home? Did he discuss the racism of his neighbors who deported the illegal immigrants in less than 44 hours via the National Guard?

First, Obama is correct. We’re not different colors. We’re different shades.

There is no true dividing line. It is therefore arbitrary as to whom is a person “of color” and who is a person “of paleness.” The idea that the law should distinguish us on the basis of color is utterly ridiculous.

Second, Obama is wrong. It’s not race that matters, it’s language and culture. We should move (legal) immigration from “family reunification” to merit. We can debate what merit means, but serving in our military sounds good to me. Another thing that sounds good to me is having a job skill that’s in short supply; for example, nursing. Then, there are demerits, like criminal convictions and gang membership.

As Trump has said many times, We should have a big beautiful wall and a golden door.

Our immigration policy should put America first, and we should not use immigrants to pull down wages of our own citizens. There are many among us whose lineage goes back to the Founding, who have not fully participated in the American Dream. While mayors and governors bear a lot of responsibility for their hell-holes, we should do what we can at the federal level, and in the states and cities that we control for our people.
