A Tesla Model 3 caught fire in an underground car parking located in the Passatge de Mas de Roda, Poblenou, Barcelona. Although the first reports about the blaze state that it involved a Model S, we can tell it is, in fact, the more affordable sedan. The headlight niche format of what is left of the car in the pictures shared by the Barcelona firefighters leaves no doubt about the vehicle that burned to a crisp. According to the Bombers de Barcelona, the fire happened on September 25 and destroyed not only the Model 3 but also the vehicle parked right at the left of the Model 3.

Electric cars are making the Edsel look like a Rolls Royce in comparison.
I didn’t do any translation, but it sounds like there might’ve already been some in the article.
FAKE NEWS: No one in their right mind would park their Tesla Model 3 in an underground garage in Barcelona, considering the risk that poses to others.
Bad link.
Linky no worky....404 error
How many people are in their right mind?
“How many people are in their right mind?”
Good point, after all they likely bought the car they blew up in the Underground Garage in Barcelona.
We were in South Carolina last winter and some of the parking garages prohibited EV’s.
Much better!
The DNCCP loves electric cars.
Most of the major components are manufactured in Red China.
Big hairy deal. ICE cars catch fire sitting in parking garages all the time, too. Just last week there was one on the local news ... oops, no, sorry, that one was a Tesla, too.
The only times I’ve read of ice cars catching fire are people putting bad stuff in the gas tanks, older cars in bad crashes that don’t turn off the fuel pumps, and possibly smoking while filling it up.
None of that just unpredictably occurs with the car parked and no one around.
As an EV owner I assure you that most Tesla owners don’t have a right mind (or is it left mind since that’s the side of the brain that does logic and reason). Virtually no Tesla owner bought their car thinking an EV best fits their driving habits. To them their Tesla is a token of gaia worship and driving it makes them the messiah of nature.
“To them their Tesla is a token of gaia worship and driving it makes them the messiah of nature.”
Nice!
I’m definitely NOT a Tesla fan, but you have to give them credit for being tops in USA mfg content.
How many diesel-swilling dualies do you see going down the road with NOTHING in the bed or on the trailer hitch? Or mini-vans on the hiway with nobody on board but the driver? In both cases, the answer is a significant majority. So buying without regard for what fits your driving habits is hardly the exclusive province of the Tesla owner.
I'd say that ^^^^^^^^^^^^ has a lot to do with why a lot of Tesla owners bought one. They are quicker than a scalded cat. You could buy a new Corvette for about the same money, but then you'd be accused of having a "mid-life crisis." And a Model S will suck the doors off any Corvette you can buy, even after Hennesey or Callaway have sprinkled their pixie dust on it.

In a sense it comes down to whether you'd rather look fast or be fast (at least until your car catches fire and roasts you).
