US District Judge Ronnie Abrams rejected Cooper’s claim on Wednesday that she was defamed when ex-employer Franklin Templeton, a holding company, axed her one day after the viral altercation in Central Park.
Cooper claimed that Franklin Templeton and its chief executive Jenny Johnson perpetuated her image as a “privileged white female ‘Karen’” by making public statements about firing her after conducting an investigation into the incident.
In May 2020, Cooper went viral after video showed her yelling at birder Christian Cooper and calling the police to claim an “African American man” was “threatening” her while she was walking her dog in Central Park.

It is always wise to mind your own business.
In fact, that advice works just about everywhere.
Like the old Hank Williams song goes:
"Well, if you mind your own business, then you won't be mindin' mine"
Not real sure why this Karen deserved to be fired. Well, let me put it another way.
What in this dog-walking episode made her unfit for her job, etc.?
The guy started the fracas, but, of course, that doesn’t matter.
“What in this dog-walking episode made her unfit for her job, etc.?”
Better to ask “what about being known to employ someone most of NYC thought of as a racist was good for her company’s PR?”
I like it when karens suffer consequences.
Also, whenever this story is re-told, the press ALWAYS identifies the Black male as a bird watcher. Possibly true, or possibly a great alibi for lurking in an area where no one can see him.
This incident would not have been handled the same way if the alleged bird watcher was a white male.
Cra cra Karen loses again
Yep.
Don't live where you can fall into the hands of black-robed Lefty Legal operatives like Ronnie Abrams.
I doubt she learned that lesson, though.
Another Karen bites the dust.
What happened exactly?
By any objective measure, this is weak grounds for a stupid lawsuit.
He threatened to poison her dog
She didn’t really do anything wrong. She took steps to defend herself while alone in Central Park, being confronted by an unknown black male.
As per http://www.kqed.org/arts/13900749/central-park-karen-amy-cooper-remains-unrepentant-about-central-park-karen-ing , she’s a financial advisor. Now her company has an employee mishandling her struggling dog while obviously stressed out telling a bird-watcher to stop recording her. Her racial bias is also obvious as she repeatedly tells the police that an African-American male is threatening her.
Would you want to keep this train-wreck of an employee when the reputation of your company is at stake?
As to the bird-watcher, he’s apparently made other dog-walkers feel threatened but not enough to call the police. In this part of the park, dogs are supposed to be leashed as per the sign. In the video, the leash is not connected to her dog’s collar.
When she refused to put the dog on a leash, he threatened to do something to the dog and tried to get it to come to him, using a treat.
Supposedly, there is animus between the bird watchers and dog owners.
Whatever happened had nothing to do with her job performance.
“The guy started the fracas, but, of course, that doesn’t matter.“
Wrong. The woman had her dog off leash in an area of the park that where dogs were supposed to be leashes. There were signs there saying this. There are areas if the park as well as plenty of other spaces where dog owners can have their dogs off leash. The man pointed this out and asked the woman to put the leash on the dog. Instead, the woman called the police and lied and pulled the race card.
All she had to do was follow the leash rule. But like many dog owners today she didn’t think the rules applied to her and her precious mutt.
