My mornings have changed significantly since the end of August. A new Dachshund puppy joined our "pack". I get up, shower, dress and take the puppy out back to potty on the lawn. She comes back inside and has breakfast in the kitchen as I feed the Maine Coon cat and Jack/Rat Terrier. The puppy goes back up to her crate with fresh food/water/bed. At that point I'm free to eat my breakfast and head to my desk for work. A coffee break at 10 AM includes getting the puppy out back for a run/potty break. She's 10 weeks old now, so she's getting a little more freedom to run in the kitchen and dashes back into the house from the yard. She is really fast.
There are 7 dogs and two cats in the house at present. The puppy is dog #7. At 66, she will be my last puppy. It is possible she will outlive me.
