Police in Virginia are searching for two men who allegedly walked into the home of two elderly people and stole a wallet at gunpoint.

The incident happened in Portsmouth, Virginia on Wednesday at around 1:50 p.m. when Mitchell Boney Jr., 25 and Tyree Demont Boney Jr., 22, allegedly entered the residence of two elderly people and ordered them to “get inside of a linen closet at gunpoint.”

According to the Portsmouth Police Department, the suspects then stole a wallet and safe.

Officials say that no injuries were reported in the incident.

The two men are wanted for armed burglary, use of a firearm, abduction, and conspiracy to commit a burglary.

Ring surveillance video caught the incident on camera and one of the men could be heard shouting demands at the elderly individuals while holding a gun.

Can’t find the video anyway. The “Boney’s” are busy little beavers aren’t they? Easy to find there’s so much evidence.

Yep. That’s one of the many lessons to be learned here.

It’s also worth noting that folks should have a way to communicate with someone at the door without opening the door (I’m not talking about a door chain, either. Anyone of even moderate strength could break one of those.)

As for me, I’m low tech. just tell them to go near a window. Then I talk to them through the window.

“Policeman said that Mitchell Boney Jr. drives a 2017 Dodge 4Charger with Virginia license plate tags reading UBS778”

The cops know their names and lic. Number. They’re probably already in custody.

It was weird. When I first moved into my home 15 years go, I got a lot of weirdoes coming by knocking for some reason or another. I think it was because the house was vacant for awhile while it was on the market, and they were trying to see if anyone was home. The visits stopped shortly after that.

“...the suspects then stole a wallet and safe.”

I knew an old guy who kept a safe as decor even though it was frozen shut, and utterly inoperable. It did look neat however, very classy look. And it weighed a LOT.

Sure enough, some dimwit burglars stole it.

Years before, a friend of his, a former safe cracker, had managed to open it but assured him that once it was locked again it was going to stay locked and it would take someone as good as him to get it open again. Its mechanism was crap.

Talking over beer later, he found out what the safe cracker thought was the grossest thing he had ever found in a safe, so they decided to do it one better, went to the store and poured 50 pounds of potatoes into the safe before locking it back up.

The old guy then said that if he ever needed a laugh, all he had to do was imagine what would happen if those dimwit burglars ever managed to get the damned thing open again.

There is no "allegedly" to it. They did it. They are on video. And they are exactly who you would think they would be.

oh sure.
we once had a girl come to the door at 8 in the morning with piece of mail she claimed got delivered to her house by mistake. Husband answered the door, not me.
I think she and her sketchy buddies thought we were out of town ( car parked in the garage, summer) and were checking to see if the house was empty.
I got the gun just in case. I am NOT playing if some MFer gets into my house.

We have a population of gypsies in my area, and they are notorious for clever thefts by misdirection. I had one family come by asking if they could have their kids pose in my field of bluebonnets for pictures. I let them, but kept a constant eye on them. My shed has been burglarized and a ladder had been stolen since.

Ugh. Thats too bad.
I also lock up everything in my shed and garage.
My neighbors do not lock anything. I could go over there right now and walk in the side or back door.
They have had countless things stolen from their home and cars. Husband always says “ well, i don’t think like a criminal” That’s ok, the criminals are thinking for you.

Their hands look white in the photos. Was that deliberate?
