With Republicans threatening to reverse LGBTQ civil rights and generally undermine democratic elections, there’s a lot riding on the November midterms. But Voter ID laws across the nation could seriously impair transgender people from voting.
New research from The Williams Institute found that out of 878,300 eligible transgender voters in the U.S., as many as 203,700 could be blocked from voting because their government-issued IDs don’t reflect their gender identity — that’s nearly one-fourth of all eligible trans voters.
If a trans person arrives at a polling place with a government-issued ID containing an incorrect gender or name, they may be turned away by poll workers who think they’re trying to “impersonate” another individual.

Well, they have two months to fix it. Should take all of thirty minutes of those two months so I’m sure they could squeeze it in…
No transgenders change their id all the time for welfare, for work, for various state and federal required licenses, for their military benefits for EVERYTHING.
Leftist Lie.
ignore.
Since freaks tend to vote RAT, that’s a GOOD thing.
We are NOT a democracy!🙄
LOL.. cool
Correct. No need for any MORE confusion in the system!!
oopsie.
Well, they could just expose themselves at the polling place to clear up the confusion.
Well, which is important - maintaining the fiction that a gender can somehow be changed by act of will, or that you believe you have an option to express your opinion in other matters as well?
If in the face of irrefutable evidence to the contrary, an individual insists that a certain fact is reality, how impaired is the rest of that person’s perception of the world? And could you rely on that person’s interpretation relating to anything?
There is an ethical and moral trap buried in a complete interpretation of that choice.
To answer in the positive, is to set yourself up for being a harsh judge of humanity. To answer in the negative, is to declare yourself a fool and simpleton. Neither response is of any continuing personal benefit, and can be twisted almost any direction.
Good. The unintended consequence of living a fantasy life sucks doesn’t it?
And now we see why it’s so important for gender to be “ fluid” like a river.
Today one gender, tommorow another, 85 days later the gender has flowed to all 87 , or how ever many can be dreamed up,
AND EACH ONE GETS A VOTE !
Just another progressive way to endlessly CHEAT and GRIFT the election process.
Typical prog behaviour.
CHEAT.
Noble cheating at its finest.
can’t get a photo i.d. because they’re so ugly, they keep breaking the camera lens
Total BS.
Isn't that the whole idea?
It IS a good thing........people who are so gullible, with mental issues, who get mutilated ON PURPOSE, certainly don’t belong in a Voting Booth. Mental incompetence should disqualify them, in a REAL America.
878,300 eligible transgender voters???
I doubt it.
Tranny’s shouldnt be allowed to vote as they are insane.
I think the ID is already correct - it accurately reflects your birth sex from your birth certificate and that can never be changed. A person can cut off their mammaries and wear a strap on but that is just a manifestation of a mental illness, not a sex change. You are what you were born as. Forever.
Disgusting and divisive hyperbole. What are the threats? Where are the threats? Are we throwing in T with the rest to stir up emotions among LG and do B really care about either? What is a Q? Have we adopted the continuum?
Vote ID it’s no threat to a democratic election. It defends them. So to would preservation of voter rolls and voting data and maintaining the rolls. Changing the rules or violating the law is not preserving democratic elections. Scams like ranked voting are definitely NOT democratic when constituents end up represented by a member of a party the majority didn’t vote for. First two (or four) past the post in jungle primaries dilutes voices and harms diversity of opinions, the choices voters have at the ballot box regarding the direction of their town or state or nation.
