It looks like fire fighters are going to get some help from mother nature. It is suppose to rain in that area for several days..

All I know is that the Truckee Meadows/Reno/Carson City/Lake Tahoe have been dealing with the smoke for over a week and a half now. Last year it was the Dixie fire we had smoke from for weeks. Air Quaility Index number sometimes exceeding the 400 ppm max on the smokeometer. Shut down the Air Races for two days this week and school for a day. Thanks to the enviro policies in place for a large extent. Grrrrrrrrrrr! 🔥🤬

We know they are doing as much as they can. Our neighbor works for Sparks FD and has been deployed to a lot of these events. Weather is looking up for some precip the next couple of days.

I’m in Placer County, fortunately upwind if the fire. First storm of the season, eagerly desired by everyone for a number of reasons, including helping with this fire. Per radar, rain is projected to begin over the fire in less than 2 hours. BTW, summer humidity here is usually around 20%, or even less. Even now before the rain begins, the sharp increase in humidity from the cloud cover helps fighting the fire
