They also like to pimp that lame excuse for not having a personal firearm: The attacker will just get it away from you and use it on you. Or if you keep a gun in your home: A burglar will find it and use it to shoot you when you come home.

And on and on. Luckily hardly anybody heeds this type of data - except for libwad commenters and sociologists and so on, trying to kill the 2nd amendment.

Interesting pie chart. I am wondering how the 10% stranger is not combined with the 49% unknown.

Does that make them a known stranger which would probably be more accurately combined with to 20% in the acquaintance category?

Unknown does not mean that you do not know your murderer. It just means they do not have enough evidence to charge anyone.

In cases where they do, the murderer is more likely to be someone you know then a stranger.

Of course the idea that you can not defend yourself against someone you know is silly. Just because I may have met someone does not move them into the benign category.
