After four seasons on Paramount, Yellowstone has only earned one Emmy nod for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program in 2021. It was completely ignored this year, even though Kelly Reilly’s star continues to rise for her portrayal of the volcanic Beth Dutton.
There are widespread theories about Yellowstone‘s MIA status during awards season. Voters may continue to see the Kevin Costner drama as a red state western, a show about the other part of America that only your dad watches.

“Voters may continue to see the Kevin Costner drama as a red state western, a show about the other part of America that only your dad watches.”
LOL...yeah, nobody lives there. Wyoming, Montana, Idaho — there’s nothing there but a bunch of red state hicks.
Is it just me or is this show kind of a Trump allegory?
The main guy is Trump, and he’s got a daughter and 2 sons like his name on everything.
I’ve only seen one episode but that was my impression.
They need black elves and dwarves as well as insufferable “strong” wymen.
It’s how you win praise in Hollywood.
I figured once Costner came thru with his Liz Cheney shirt he was a shoe in.
Yeah, very hate a big turn off. Writers think cussing like a sailor makes a woman “strong”. No, it makes her into a bitch.
Deadwood had great writing and characters but the incessant cursing turned me off it.
I always liked the Indians, thought eventually they would partner up with Costner for a mutually beneficial outcome.
The first ten minutes did it for me.
What a way to begin a series.
Cause they’re not actually that good. I mean I enjoy the shows but they just ain’t award level. The acting, the scripts the directing, they’re all effective and entertaining. But they’re also forgettable, and that doesn’t get awards.
I watched a few. Didn’t like any of the characters. Crummy program.
So relative popularity has nothing to do with it?
No. Emmys aren’t for popular. People’s Choice Awards are for popular. Also bigger paychecks.
Vulgar.
Never watched it, but
“The Season 4 finale of Paramount Network ’s hugely popular drama starring Oscar winner Kevin Costner hit a new series high with 9.3 million total viewers in Live+Same Day”
“The Emmy Awards hit a new low in viewership on Monday night, with its estimated audience of 5.9 million people even smaller than the COVID-19-disrupted ceremony two years ago.”
Yes, I forgot that, lowest emmy audience IN HISTORY.
“Yellowstone is just more Hollywood woke horse shit. Watched the first season, plus a few eposides into season two. Every episode was worse than the last.”
horrible, stupid, unrealistic, totally ridiculous show ... most have been written by know-nothing 20-somethings ...
Uh….NO!….and Hardly
I gave up on it when I saw Rip Wheeler wearing Levi’s. Cowboys don’t wear Levi’s. Levi’s are from California and they’re trash on horseback because of the inner seam. Cowboys (like me and my friends)wear Wrangler and Ariat.
“Tried to watch……couldn’t tolerate the vulgarity, esp of the daughter“
Yes… drives me NUTS to watch period pieces where they’re all talking like it’s 2022 and using today’s slang and profanity.
I'm surprised, I believe Taylor would be considered authentic as a rider.
Watched the show a few times, thought it was boring and silly. Don’t get the hype.
