Why Taylor Sheridan Shows Can’t Catch A Break With Emmy Voters (Yellowstone, 1883)

After four seasons on Paramount, Yellowstone has only earned one Emmy nod for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program in 2021. It was completely ignored this year, even though Kelly Reilly’s star continues to rise for her portrayal of the volcanic Beth Dutton.

There are widespread theories about Yellowstone‘s MIA status during awards season. Voters may continue to see the Kevin Costner drama as a red state western, a show about the other part of America that only your dad watches.

Seasons 1-3 were awesome. Kind of went off the rails in Season 4, IMHO.

I’ll still watch Season 5, though. ;) (I’m behind; have to wait for it on DVD, but it is very Binge-Worthy.)

Yellowstone is just more Hollywood woke horse shit. Watched the first season, plus a few eposides into season two. Every episode was worse than the last. And then there’s Costner. Don’t think it’s necessary to elaborate.

Kelly Reilly = Beth Dutton. May just be me, but her character gets more over the top every season. I’m surprised she isn’t 300lbs with all the scenery she chews. I enjoy the show a lot, and I like her character about 50% of the time, when she’s not going full Hiroshima on everyone.

Brit TV series ‘Above Suspicion’ is worth seeking out, she is great as a police detective.

Yeah, I heard people saying good things about the show and I was planning to check it out, but then Costner had to go and open his mouth to support Liz Cheney, so forget it.

They seem to be writing Kayce (sp?) and Monica and their kid completely out of it. Not sure why. Costner and the lone Grandson had a very close relationship to start, now this orphan that Beth dragged home is garnering his attention. It was much more fun when they were fighting people that were trying to steal their land, kill them or wheeling and dealing with the Native Americans and their casinos on the Rez. More than enough intrigue and bad guys in those situations.

And, frankly, I want more Thomas Rainwater:

LOL! Perfect. My jaw was on the floor the first interview I saw with her and her Aussie accent was on full display. My jaw dropped!
