Emmys reach record-low audience of 5.9 million people

The Emmy Awards hit a new low in viewership on Sunday night, with its estimated audience of 5.9 million people even smaller than the COVID-19-disrupted ceremony two years ago.

The Nielsen company said the ceremony honoring television’s best work, where “Ted Lasso” was named best comedy and “Succession” best drama, was down from the 7.4 million people who watched in 2021.

Usually shown on a Sunday night, the Emmys were shifted to Monday to make way for NBC’s first “Sunday Night Football” game the night before. It couldn’t escape football, however, since it competed against a tight “Monday Night Football” game.

The Emmys were hosted by Kenan Thompson of “Saturday Night Live.”

The previous low point for the Emmys, with 6.1 million people, came with a drastically downsized show because of the pandemic in 2000. …

I went to streaming on demand and haven’t been bombarded by the constant advertising for the awards shows. Just that is worth it, not even considering the fist full of money I’m saving by not paying for satellite.

I clicked by it. The two people I saw were dressed like they were at Comic Con or some Sci Fi show.

No thanks.

I didn't even know the Emmys were aired this past weekend.

I'll take a wild guess that the Emmy Awards were pathetically horrible and completely unwatchable.

Did my wild guess turn out to be 100% right? What do I WIN???

P.S. All actions and activities by the goofy Democrats/RINOs are totally predictable.

I flipped around channels last night when I stopped on the Emmies. I saw the audience cheer wildly when some Korean guy won an award. Diversity, I suppose.

So the guy takes the stage and accepts the award, and the first thing he says is *I want to thank God for this award," and all of a sudden the place went quiet.

The Korean guy looked confused, then continued haltingly to finish his thank yous and left the stage to silence from the audience that just cheered him moments ago.

Then I continued to channel surf.

A person I've never heard of from a show I stopped watching about 25 or 30 years ago.
