John Mack was a shrink who worked with thousands of folks who claimed they were abducted by aliens.
He claimed it was a very small percentage who were mentally ill—the vast majority were completely sane and believed their experiences were real.
I was curious about this question myself—and at one point went to a “UFO convention” to meet some of the “contactees” face to face.
I wanted to look them in the eye, listen to their stories, and make my own judgement about their sincerity and/or sanity.
They all passed my test with flying colors.
Mack found that the beliefs and experiences of the people who stated belief and experience of ufos to be similar to those who belive in a number of different experiences where they are left with a spiritual change.
I guess the question would be why ufo or aliens? Why not God Jesus Or Buddha as with the majority of the population?
