According to the outlet’s extended forecast, the United States can expect quite a few winter weather disturbances throughout the season. The Farmers’ Almanac goes into specific dates, including:

Overall, the Farmers’ Almanac predicts a snow-heavy winter across the nation. Those in highest cold-weather peril will find themselves in the middle of an active storm track that is predicted to run from the western Gulf of Mexico all the way to the northeast, across the Virginias and touching upon New York state and New England, all areas that are used to bracing for the coldest winter across the country. …

Indications are it will be a cold winter here too.

I saw Big Foot in Walmart buying a fur coat.

Ok, so the political propagandists will attribute the cold to “manmade” causes. “Manmade global warming” isn’t the go to phrase anymore.

There is a big difference in predictions and forecasting.

One has to do with reading old bones & tea leaves, the other has to do with models of previous history of specific factors.

I noticed that even the Almanac has gone somewhat “woke”. At least the Canadian edition of The Old Farmers’ Almanac anyway...

I saw my first snow of the season just today. Tromped in it a little and made a snowball.

Western Maryland will probably continue to have rain, more rain, with a switchup to a whole lot of rain, just like the whole damn “summer”.

We’ve had less snow and above average Temps for the last 3-4 years here in Hoosierland

Last years we only had a few days of barely frozen ground, with it thawing by early afternoon. One time I had to plow drive. Year before I never had to plow

The Farmers Almanac prognosticating on nothing. Have they ever given a spread sheet on the veracity of their predictions? No. Until then, it is nothing more than wanting you to buy the hard copy. No thank you, but keep going guys, it’s fun to laugh.

Near long term forecast model tracking for about a month, call for a significant cold snap throughout much of the inter mountain West and plains, followed by a warm snap in October.

We shall see.

I saw an article that said La Niña is sticking around for a 3rd season. La Niña typically means milder summer and winter in the southern part of the country.
