When Arsen Tatizian arrived in Petersburg earlier this year he did not think he would be staying in Alaska beyond the end of his contract with OBI-much less with his wife and his daughter at his side.

A dreamy, out-of-touch bubble you live in, but you are going to tell us contractors and tradesmen who have lived through this 50-year mess how it is.
There is a reason that Americans were driven out of the trades since the 1965 Immigration Act and a reason why the construction of new homes is so shoddy today and has been for decades, some of us watched for 50 years as home construction done by Mexicans ended quality and craftsmanship, Mexico is incompetent in construction and now it is here.
I’ve seen this countless times, the dreamy woman seeing a Mexican sweating in her yard or on a roof and her thinking that whites, won’t do that hard work because her husband doesn’t do it, not knowing a whit about the last 50 years in construction and what really takes place.
Trades don’t require schools, that is more leftist/unionist thinking, helpers become journeymen, try walking onto a Mexican construction site and asking for an entry-level labor job if you are white or black.
Mexico being a land of quality construction workers is just plain silly, it is Mexico because Mexicans live and work there, and it shows in their cheap, shoddy, sloppy construction.
