Confidence is increasing for significant rain and flash flooding in Southern California and southwest Arizona between Friday and Sunday
The remnants of Hurricane Kay are just a day away from bringing significant rainfall to parched areas of Southern California and southwest Arizona — but the downpours may end up being too much of a good thing.

Remnant of Hurricane Rosa in 2018 dropped 6” of rain on my home on Scottsdale.
I now watch every Baja hurricane just in case.
It is Hollyweird after all.
I think I’ve seen that same guy in other videos he’s made. Either he or his wife almost got washed away.
A mile away and 400 ft. up is a long way to hear it.
Must be some really mighty waves.
Atmospherics. Can hear the surf really clearly when the street sounds die down.

Having never lived near the ocean I don’t know if I’d like that constant sound or not.
I did on the handful of occasions I visited the coasts.

What is the difference between a hurricane and a typhoon?
https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/cyclone.html
“ Once a tropical cyclone reaches maximum sustained winds of 74 miles per hour or higher, it is then classified as a hurricane, typhoon, or tropical cyclone, depending upon where the storm originates in the world. In the North Atlantic, central North Pacific, and eastern North Pacific, the term hurricane is used. The same type of disturbance in the Northwest Pacific is called a typhoon. Meanwhile, in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean, the generic term tropical cyclone is used, regardless of the strength of the wind associated with the weather system.”
A hurricane is a hurricane and a typhoon is a typhoon. Or a Hurricane is a University of Miami student. A Typhoon was a RAF fighter plane in WW2.
Good links, Thanks!

So, it sounds like the first hurricane in 25 years could be hitting LA ... interesting!
LA might have semi clean streets and homeless for over a decade or more.

Only a fool would argue with Robert Duvall. :)
